Words of Praise for
Vocal Improv Workshops
One of the best workshops I’ve ever attended. Monique is a gifted teacher, a brilliant singer. I loved how she created a safe space for us to express ourselves. I never thought I could sing but now I can’t stop singing. Thank you Monique for reminding me that I have a voice.

An amazing experience to use your voice, train your ear, and connect more deeply with yourself and others.
— Claire Heath, Los Angeles
Incredible! I actually cried on my drive home, (tears of joy) because I feel like my voice that has been dormant for way too many years was awoken. THANK YOU for the safe environment and the creative space to come alive again. I didn’t realize just how much I miss singing, and craved the proper outlet to do so.
— Christina Drahos, Los Angeles
It was the most creatively energizing vocal practice I have ever experienced. I would love to do it again!
— Johan Beckles, Los Angeles
We’re still buzzing from such an amazing time! What a great experience – I feel even more connected to my voice and being present with myself and others. See you soon! Again, Thank you Monique. Much love and appreciation.
— Dana Svoboda, London
One of the BEST coaching sessions I’ve ever had was with Monique DeBose. Monique’s Wholistic Voice Coaching sessions are gentle, yet sharp. She has a graceful way of calling forth the splendor within, in an almost seamless manner. I went into my first session thinking it was going to be a certain way; however, the organic way it unfolded blew my mind. I strongly recommend that you experience the treasure it is to work with Monique.
— Eridania Garcia, New York
Had a great time! Monique is a sweetheart. This was “out of the box” and fun. Everyone in the group brought a unique energy and sound. We made beautiful music together.
— Nancy Bartlet, Los Angeles
The opportunity to work with Monique for a series of sessions was invaluable to me. I’ve taken several of her workshops (which are super fun and helped me learn a lot about improvisation), but the private work we did together was phenomenal. She created a sacred, safe space which facilitated a breakthrough in my personal sense of power, both in my creative expression, and just in my life in general.
— Lisa Steele, Los Angeles
Monique DeBose’s music is honest, full with emotions, written from the soul. The style is a mix of various influences which gives it a special, but universal character… with her voice she takes you on a special journey.
— Glenn S.F. Westphal, Amsterdam
I couldn’t wait to sing my heart out at Vocal Imrov LA. Despite the fact that I got cold feet at the front door, I continued on and sang with everyone else and I am so glad that I did; I had so much fun expressing myself through song. Monique made it a warm and inviting, fun loving atmosphere where any ability, including mine, was welcome. Thank you Monique for putting this together.
— Christy ‘kiki’ Lifosjoe, Los Angeles
Sound is everywhere at all times, how wonderful to be a human and allow sound to re-connect you to ALL that was, is and will be. Monique did this for me, like a midwife coach, assisting me to find my sound. What came through was more then I asked for. Thank you my dear Monique!
— Netanya Selman, Los Angeles
Monique is a musical lightning bolt! She is one of those artists that make you want to sing and create on the spot. A wonderfully welcoming spirit, talented yet not arrogant. Very supporting and great to collaborate with. Lovely voice too!
— Wil Key, Los Angeles
Vocal improv sessions with Monique expanded my creativity allowing me to genuinely express, through my voice, the sound of my soul in a fun, supportive, and encouraging environment!
— Garrett Hunter, Los Angeles
I loved working with Monique. I had forgotten how fun singing could be, but in just one class I remembered why I love to sing so much. Each class helped me peel away the layers of beliefs and ideas I had about why I can’t sing, and supported me in finding the way I like to create. By the last class I was feeling the freedom to express myself authentically without self judgment and I left knowing that I am a singer.
— Dhiraj Coats, Los Angeles
I had the blessing to work with Monique DeBose for several months when I determined to take on the exciting step of stepping into my “true voice”. When I was a child I had heard a recording of my voice and decided it was “awful” and shouldn’t be shared. The step toward reclaiming my voice was a powerful one. It was a goal to learn to “sing”, but even more than that to step more deeply into who I am as a person and how that is projected out to the world through my voice. Monique’s amazing ability to meet me where I was, hold a beautiful space for my personal process (I was quite nervous to sing in front of people) and challenge me to be all I knew I could be was a pivotal time in my development as a person, a teacher, a writer, a mother and a woman. Words cannot express my gratitude for her knowledge, humor, grace and professionalism. If you’ve ever wondered what it feels like to access the power of your “true voice”, spend some time with Monique DeBose. I guarantee you will be transformed, for the better.

Being a novice to having my voice trained, I was intimidated and did not know what to expect in a group voice session, however Monique’s amazing and sunshine like energy was able to melt that away. The exercises were fun and exciting and didn’t feel like boring drills that I came to know later on in other trainings I tried. When the time was up, nobody was ready to leave because we wanted to sing more and had become very comfortable with our voices and with each other. It’s actually more of an event than a class that I like to repeat as often as I get a chance.
— Ludmila Adams, Los Angeles
Working with Monique is magical. I have had the great opportunity to work with her in several different ways over the past years – each was enormous great good fun, providing a rich forum for insight and expanding my capacity for enjoyment. My first experience with Monique was in Phoenix in 2010 when she led a vocal improv group with twenty people. She is a master at creating a playful space for beautiful, joyful sound to emerge from individuals and coalesce into a group ensemble making music.
