Q. How long does it take?
A. Typically I devote about 12-16 hours between a couple of days. This includes writing, recording, and mixing the final product. Depending on how busy my schedule is, turn-around times could be as quick as a few days, to a few weeks. If you’re thinking about commissioning a custom song, don’t wait till the last minute. Contact me today to set it up to insure there’s enough time.
Q. What if I don’t like the song you write?
A. Though I can’t 100% guarantee you’ll like the song I write, so far I’ve had 100% positive “beyond my expectations”-type feedback! Before I write a single note or word, I will interview / ask you some questions via email. I’ll want to know about you, who you’re giving the song to, about what kind of music you and they listen to. I’ll outline what kind of song I think would work and only after having a clear vision of a direction, I’ll sit down to write. That’s why the writing usually happens quickly after I’ve gathered the back story. The more information I get, the more personal the song can be. I can also send you a quick iPhone recording before I sit down to track the whole arrangement, send you a lyric and you can have final say on anything that might not feel right to you. I wouldn’t be able to, say completely change or re-write something from the ground up, but changing a few lyrics or feel of the tune (tempo, groove) wouldn’t be a problem. I take a lot of pride in what I do and want you to be happy with the final song : ]
