Choose The Experience:
Creative Workshops for Teams
Creative Workshops for Teams is a groundbreaking one-day event designed to help small businesses and teams unleash and express their best ideas through creative improv team building training. It facilitates an awakening in each member of your team, so that they see themselves as the vital contributors they are. We explore play, meaning and cohesion to spark individual creativity while learning how to offer our individuals contributions to the group in a way that breeds affinity and cohesion.
How can improvisational skills taught in this workshop be applied to the workplace?
Although diversity is the lifeblood of any strong organization, when the members of a team do not know how to work together as a unified body and use their inherent diversity to their advantage, it can result in interpersonal breakdowns that distract from the primary goal and objectives of the organization. The exercises in this workshop teach participants how to create a whole that is greater than the sum of its parts.
The skills taught in this course are the same ones that professional athletes and performance artists employ to thrill audiences and spectators. The ability to master your inner experience in a “high stakes” situation is crucial, all while remaining present to what is happening in the room. This skill allows you to:
- Think quickly on your feet in high pressure / high stake situations such as a public speaking engagements or big client pitches
- Reframe the internal “I can’t” dialogue that runs unchecked like a broken record when you are faced with a difficult situation
- Move into a position of natural leadership no matter what your official “title”
- Have more influence with customer, colleagues, your boss and direct reports
Monique’s training solutions are challenging and fun. They take the techniques that Hollywood’s top singers, actors and improvisers use and teach them to business communicators so that they too can reach the top of their game.
Working with Monique is magical. I have had the great opportunity to work with her in several different ways over the past years – each was enormous great good fun, providing a rich forum for insight and expanding my capacity for enjoyment. My first experience with Monique was in Phoenix in 2010 when she led a vocal improv group with twenty people. She is a master at creating a playful space for beautiful, joyful sound to emerge from individuals and coalesce into a group ensemble making music. I had so much fun that day in Phoenix that I asked Monique to create a program for the two of us to focus on opening my voice, organized to take advantage of my once a month visits to LA. Monique is smart, funny, playful, highly intuitive and a barrel of fun to work with!

Module 1: Creating the Container
9:00 – 10:30 a.m.
Module 1 sets the tone for the entire workshop and we begin with an exercise that ensures every participant is present in the room. Often in creative workshops participants come in with different expectations, some are apathetic, others are excited. No matter what energy is present, we take all of it and channel it in a way that creates a solid foundation for the group and the work we will do the rest of the day.
Module 2: Play
10:45 – 12:15 a.m.
Module 2 is all about play. Play activates the right hemisphere of brain which is the side that governs the creative, intuitive self. Play helps get us out of heads, into our bodies, and into the present moment where we can respond to what is actually happening in the room. The experiential exercises we take on in this session create a sense of increased confidence and an experience of risk taking that is rewarding and invigorating. After the exercise is complete, we move into a short integration session where we discover that the experience we get is the experience we choose.
The skills mastered in Module 2 include:
- A new (and embodied) experience of rewarding risk taking.
- Learning how to relate to your colleages multi-dimensionally.
- Feel more relaxed.
- A sense of play.
- An increase in confidence that allows you to think quickly, stay present and respond creatively to unexpected challenges or requests.
Lunch 12:15 – 1:30 p.m.
Module 3: Meaning
1:30 – 3:00 p.m.
Finding meaning in our lives helps us approach work from a unique, and wholistic perspective. The ability to find out how your own interests intersect with the opportunities available in your employment is key to job satisfaction. During module 3, we dig a little deeper and get access to the channel of our authentic voice. We explore such questions as why we go to work in the first place (beyond our basic needs of food and shelter). Getting clear about our motivation creates a sense of personal power and gratitude as you honor the benefits that you are presently receiving.
The skills mastered in Module 3 include:
- Learn how to integrate work, meaning, and life in a holistic and meaningful way.
- Learn how to speak your wisdom from a centered place.
- Learn how to listen to others wisdom from your highest self.
- A personal sense of power as you take ownership of the decisions you’ve made in your career.
Module 4: Cohesion
3:15 – 4:45 p.m.
Unless you are a solo-preneur, you have a team of people you have to work with in order to do your job. The degree of cohesion you experience with your colleagues will greatly impact the success of the department, your own ability to gain cooperation and support to get things done. During Module 4, we bring the focus back from the individual to the team. We learn how to colalese a group so that everyone is on the same page and in service to the same goal. The “Orchestra” exercise is a fun, playful game that teaches us how to harmonize with others, and it demonstrates (in a fun way) the inevitable train wrecks that happen when we are not in alignment with the group. No vocal or musical abilities are required to participate in this exercise.
The skills mastered in module 4 include:
- Group Harmony
- Symphonic Thinking
- Learn how to harmonize with the whole and show up powerfully when it is time to shine with your individual contribution.
